WearMe
Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 9, 2026
Introduction
WearMe ("we", "our", or "us") is an AI wardrobe stylist app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use WearMe on iOS, Android, or web.
Information we collect
- Account information: email address, display name, profile photo, and password (stored securely by Firebase Authentication).
- Wardrobe data: photos of clothing items you upload, item names, categories, colors, formality, and season tags.
- Style preferences: outfit ratings, piece swaps, and feedback you provide to improve suggestions.
- Usage data: weekly plans, event outfits, and in-app interactions needed to run core features.
- Survey answers: your optional answer to "Where did you hear about us?" after signing up, used to understand how people find WearMe.
- Device permissions: camera and photo library (to add wardrobe items), notifications (for outfit reminders), and location (for weather-based styling when enabled).
How we use your information
- Provide wardrobe management, AI outfit suggestions, and weekly planning.
- Send optional push notifications such as daily outfit reminders and Sunday plan nudges.
- Improve recommendations based on your feedback and wardrobe contents.
- Maintain account security and troubleshoot technical issues.
AI and third-party services
- Firebase (Google): authentication, database, and cloud storage for your account and wardrobe data.
- Anthropic Claude: analyzes clothing photos to suggest tags (category, color, formality, season). Images are sent only for tagging and are not used to train public models beyond the API provider's terms.
- Background removal: clothing photos are processed by our own background-removal service hosted on Google Cloud. Photos are used only to produce the cut-out image and are not shared with other third parties.
- Weather services: approximate location or city-based weather for outfit planning.
- Unsplash: search terms describing a missing wardrobe item (e.g. "black midi skirt") are sent to Unsplash to show reference stock photos in the Gaps feature. No personal information is included.
- RevenueCat: manages subscription and purchase status across platforms and receives your user ID and purchase receipts to keep your entitlements in sync, plus your optional "Where did you hear about us?" answer for attribution.
- App stores: if you subscribe to Premium, payment is handled by Apple or Google under their respective privacy policies.
Data storage and retention
Your data is stored in Firebase (Firestore and Cloud Storage) while your account is active. When you deactivate your account through Settings, we delete your profile, wardrobe items, plans, events, feedback, and associated photos from our systems. To prevent free-trial abuse, we keep a one-way hash of your email address (not the email itself) together with which one-time free features you used, for up to 12 months after deletion; if you sign up again with the same email, those features stay used.
Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us operate WearMe (listed above), when required by law, or to protect the safety and rights of users.
Your choices and rights
- Edit your profile and notification preferences in Settings.
- Disable notifications at any time in Settings or your device OS.
- Deactivate your account in Settings to permanently delete your data.
- Request a copy of your data or ask privacy questions by contacting us at the email below.
Children's privacy
WearMe is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Security
We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections and Firebase security rules. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised date at the top of this page. Continued use of WearMe after changes means you accept the updated policy.
